When choosing seating arrangement / spa shell mold, you should consider for what purpose(s) your spa will be used. Are you looking for hydrotherapy massage? A place to get together and relax with family? Maximum seating to entertain friends? Or a combination of the above? Also evaluate what types of seats you find comfortable and easily accessible. Splashes provides a wide variety of seating plans that combine bench, contoured, and lounge seating. Some manufacturers drill multiple holes in their spas and fill them with arrays of jets. They believe that the customer will think that they are getting extra value. The more jets, the better, right? We don’t think so. Really, we don’t believe that more jets are really the best for the customer. So how many jets are enough? With our design principles of form, fit and function, we have diligently studied every seat in each one of our models, to see exactly what will happen when you are enjoying it with your family, in real life. The relationship between pump pressure, water action and the therapy and enjoyment you need is something we constantly study. More jets do not make a better hot tub. We want the best of therapy, structural rigidity (too many holes can compromise quality structure), massage performance, the beauty of moving water and many other factors that we study. Rest assured that no matter which model from Splashes you buy, you get the best design for your personal pleasure! How much horsepower is enough in a spa? We believe that proper engineering, just like a fine car, will show in the performance of a spa. Every spa at Splashes is tested and designed for the proper pounds per square inch, so the bather gets the massage they need. We don’t want to blast the bather out of the seat with huge jet combinations - this is contrary to our design principles. Plus, too many holes in the hot tub shell weaken the structure and ruins any massage capabilities. All spas at Splashes can give you the massage and relaxation you need. What is the recommended length of time that I can stay in my spa? The International SPA Association recommends a maximum soak time of 15 minutes for adults and 10 minutes for children. Is it normal to lose a little water every week? Yes, that's normal. Sources of water loss include: Bathers - you take water out of the spa when you leave, especially if you wear a bathing suit. Splashing - water play is fun but water leaves the tub! Evaporation - control this by leaving the cover down until just before you enter and closing the cover right after you leave the hot tub. This will also conserve energy and keep your electricity bill down. (Note: DO leave your cover open after adding certain chemicals. This is necessary to prevent damage to your spa or cover. Check your owner's manual for details) Is there an easier way to remove my spa cover? Use of a cover removal device will allow one person to remove the spa cover with ease, and without back strain. These devices come in a variety of models, from simple slides to more elaborate units, which allow for easy lifting and out-of-the-way storage of your spa cover. Our cover lifters are lightweight and durable. They are made from aircraft grade aluminum with stainless fasteners. They are easy to install as well, usually requiring little more than a screwdriver to set-up. Do I need a plumbed water supply to my spa? All Splashes spas are self contained units andeasily filled with a garden hose. Why is my water all foamy, and what can I do about it? •detergents brought in on swimsuits •body products such as skin creams, hair conditioners, and so on  •heavy bather loads However, persistent foaming may be a sign of low sanitizer levels, so it is important that you check your water balance whenever foaming occurs. Tips for avoiding foam: The following suggestions have been taken from internet forums and are not officially endorsed by Aquad Spas. Follow a careful water maintenance program. Offer to rinse and dry your guests' swimsuits before they put them on to enter the spa. Encourage guests to shower, suit and all, before entering the spa. Buy a few extra swimsuits when they're on sale in the fall, and keep them on hand for your guests. Rinse them twice in hot water after use (no detergent).  What is the purpose of a circulation pump? Today's finest spas feature a small circulation pump or low speed  pump that continuously filters the water to keep it clean and clear. It also provides the necessary flow to allow the heater to constantly maintain your set water temperature. Spas without circulation or low spped pumps must rely on larger horsepower pump turning on periodically to provide filtration and the flow required for heating. The circulation pump is the most efficient method to provide flow for filtration and heating. How do I know if my ozone system is working? It may be difficult for the average consumer to determine this. Here are some tips that will help. You might get an occasional "fresh air" smell when you open the cover, but the off-gas system will take care of most of the free ozone and you won't normally smell the ozone much. Bubbles coming out of the seating area of the spa are not necessarily a good indicator, either. If the ozone unit is working, those little bubbles will contain ozone; if the unit has failed, the bubbles will be nothing but air. In our Ozone system, you'll only have bubbles when the blower is running. Some ozonators have an indicator light; if the light is working, so is the ozonator. However, not all ozone generators have such a light! The best indication that your ozone system is working is clear, sparkling water with a minimum of sanitizer. But even if you find yourself having to add more sanitizer, there are many other possible causes other than a lack of ozone. How often should I drain my spa? This depends on how often you use it. Generally, it is recommended that you drain your spa at least every 3 months or sooner if needed. How do I winterise my spa? Winter can be one of the most enjoyable times of the year to enjoy your spa. As it is difficult to get water out of the plumbing lines, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND DRAINING YOUR SPA FOR THE WINTER. However, if you decide not to use your spa during the winter, we recommend you winterize as follows: 1) If you drain your spa, turn off the main power to the spa. Drain as completely as possible. You may want to use a wet-vacuum or high-pressure blower to evacuate as much water as possible. 2) When the spa is completely empty, loosen all pump unions and fittings to allow air and water to expand freely within the system. The idea is to try to eliminate water from any sealed areas in the system. Be sure to check your spa after any power failure to ensure the spa is operational.
